SY Build
Hello,
My friend likes the Dervish class the most but he has a problem with the general "Derv Hate" regarding other classes doing better DPS with the scythe.
We made this build so he could help the team alot and use the scythe in ways that others can't ([avatar of melandru] + [Wearying strike]). We decided on these over [Wounding Strike] because of the additional damage that wearying does and the fact that 6 second DW spam isn't much worse than 3 second DW spam. We will have alot of enchantments in our group with Prot healers and such, hopefully these enchantments ending on him will help offset the massive energy pool he'll need to maintain this.
He will be using a Zealous Scythe of Enchanting and may do Radiant armor based on suggestions in this thread.
The Build;
[Mystic Sweep (PvE)][Wearying strike][avatar of melandru][eternal aura][aura of holy might][heart of fury]["for great justice"]["save yourselves"]
Comments/Concerns? thanks!

hmm, i think id rather go with [[wounding strike] since bringing Melandru means bringing Eternal Aura as well. Thats a whopping 35 energy for those 2 skills when you can just use 5 energy and inflict bleeding instead of doing the dmg. Plus with how i run my heros i like bringing things like [[barbs] and Melandru turns your dmg into earth dmg so barbs wouldnt trigger.
But i give you points for adding in the SY, that skill is always fun. But the avatars are always fun to toy with I can see using a build similar to this in areas that are very condition heavy and also running like a monk with some prots so you get better e-mgmt from the enchts.
imo, any derv build that can pile a ton of points into scythe and myst is my kinda build.

and prevent your healers from healing you? guild wars isn't about solo-ing regardless of whether its PvE or PvP.
i personally don't like using [for great justice] because of the long recharge. just do your job by applying DW to every single enemy you see.

[hamstring][knee cutter][dragon slash][whirlwind attack][heart of fury] (balance your choice)
How about the above chain…yeah you would need to pick up a sword and shield but you would look cool doing so.
When it comes to save yourselves builds it how fast you can reapply not how much damage you can personally deal.

Same concept as the [warriors endurance] scythe war.

[aura of holy might] converts your dmg to holy dmg, so you won't be triggering [barbs] anyways. (Provided that you're using [aura of holy might] that is.)

Appearance doesn't always translate to functionality.

Phys classes were designed to do dmg. If you're preserving your team, but nothing on the opposing side is dying, you're not really progressing, are you? I'd look for a balance between the two.

I wouldn't run that either. Scythe users can position themselves to attack multiple enemies simultaneously, allowing for rapid adren gain. You can also upgrade your scythe with a furious mod.

Try taking a ranger hero(maybe a R/P with a spear) with [infuriating heat] Just give it a few interrupts and it should keep the adrenaline going.
Even a non ranger primary should be able to maintain it, just try and get it cast out of the way or the level 1 spirit will die real easy(but it can be brought back every 15 seconds)
Maybe do something like that racway thing with the paragons but put an N/R with the orders and infuriating. You could stick BR on him and have him juice you before and between mobs so you can put melandru up easier. Might not work in the 4 man areas, but probably will in the 6-8 man areas. I once went R/W with a IH+volley+SY build, had triple shot and a N/Rt hero throwing around splinter and nightmare and it worked well enough. I couldn't maintain SY 100% of the time but at my R7 luxon it was there when I needed it.

Solid build...as with all Melandru builds there are energy issues but those can be dealt with by bringing along a staff on weapon switch. Also would be nice to have someone with dark fury to help fuel Save Yourselves!

You could tag along a Necromancer running something like this:
[Blood is Power][Order of Pain][Dark Fury][Well of Blood]
